Soil Sampler
| A rear view of a our prototype soil sampler. The sampler mounts on a small tractor and will use an auger to extract the soil core and then a pneumatic system to convey the sample to a device which bags the sample and allows the operator to affix a bar code to the bag for identification. A mapping software package and DGPS will be used to mark the sampled location.. | |
| View of the auger system. A hydraulic motor turns the soil sampling auger inside a tube. The vacuum system will attach to the open slit to convey the sample to the bagging device. 5 to 6 of these samplers will be evenly placed around the tractor so that one composite core can be taken a a grid sampling point and bagged for analysis rather than taking multiple samples. | |
