Demonstrating the Handheld NTech GreenSeeker N-sensor
at the 2003 Winter Wheat Conference in Hopkinsville, KY.
Dr. Marvin Stone, agricultural engineer
at Oklahoma State University, demonstrates the handheld GreenSeeker
developed in conjunction with the OSU Precision Sensing Team and NTech.
Dr. Stone points to the actual sensor
and discusses how it emits light and measures the reflectance using the
same sensor.
Dr. Lloyd Murdock, UK Extension
Agronomist, discusses what the sensor is looking at and how it is using
the plant to tell us what it needs in terms of nitrogen.
Here is a view of the sensor from
below. From left to right, there is a sensor that measures the
reflectance, a light source, and then the connections back to the IPAQ
readout.
Here's a scenic picture of the farm
that we were on in Christian County.
And here's a bonus picture, that I just
had to through in. On our trip home, there was a great winter sunset
just outside of Bowling Green.
