Results from the Fertilizer Testing and Modeling

wpe1.jpg (66809 bytes) Actual uniform 56.0 kg/ha application surface for a single pass.
wpe3.jpg (30572 bytes) Average 56.0 kg/ha distribution pattern.
(Note the slight M-pattern at this low rate)
wpeB.jpg (64253 bytes) Actual uniform 168.1 kg/ha application surface for a single pass.
wpeD.jpg (37867 bytes) Average 168.1 kg/ha distribution pattern.
(Note the existing W-pattern)
wpeF.jpg (66331 bytes) Modeled 168.1 kg/ha application surface.
wpe6.jpg (43496 bytes) Actual 56.0 kg/ha application surface for multiple passes.  Represents what would be spread during field operation.
wpe13.jpg (64465 bytes) Rate change application surface changing rates from 56.0 to 168.1 kg/ha.  (Note the observed pattern shift during the rate change)
wpe15.jpg (65173 bytes) Modeled rate change application surface.  (Rate change dynamics modeled using sigmoidal functions)
wpe19.jpg (55204 bytes) Modeled rate change application surface changing rates from 168.1 kg/ha to 56.0 kg/ha.

Generation of an "As Applied" Surface

wpe17.jpg (22392 bytes) Prescription ma for potash. (1 acre management zones)
wpe1B.jpg (25442 bytes) Resulting "As Applied" application tract generated by AgView.
wpe21.gif (8786 bytes) Selected distribution patterns for "As Applied" map generation.  Each pattern represents a defined range (low, medium or high).  Each point within the AgView file contains the amount spread at the point, thereby determining which pattern to assign at the point
wpe23.gif (6071 bytes) Example assigned polygon representing the applied material to each point.  The amount of material applied in each sub-polygon based on the recorded quantity at each point times the normalized spread pattern shown above.
wpe1D.jpg (80460 bytes) The polygons based on "As Applied" file.  The red matrix was then overlaid and intersecting polygons summed at each point to calculate the amount of material spread at each of the red points.  (Points lying outside boundary were deleted)
wpe1F.jpg (34776 bytes) The resulting "As Applied" matrix overlain on the prescription map. The presence of a point shows deviation from the prescribed amount at that point.
