This is a shapefile that was created to illustrate the farm boundary and the watershed boundary.  These two boundaries were joined and used to clip other coverages and shapefiles to the area.

This is a shapefile of the various fields located on the farm.  There are two files that are available to download: the newer fields created with a GPS receiver and the older fields digitized from farm maps.

There are 29 separate soil groups that have been classified on the farm.  This Classification of the soils was performed by the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service in June of 1994.  The soils were identified using both truck mounted hydraulic soil probes and handheld probes. The other soils map was obtained from the Kentucky NRCS SURGO soils directory.

This is a set of shapefiles that is used to identify elevation changes on the farm.  These files are broken down into 10 foot contours, 10 foot sinkholes, 2 foot contours, and 2 foot sinkholes.  To use the 2 foot contours, you should have the 10 foot contours activated as well.

The first downloadable file is a set of tif images obtained from GRW Aerial Survey in 1996.  The second set of photos were obtained from the Office of Geological Information Systems.  The first set has a better resolution than the second.

DEM

This is an ESRI Grid of a digital elevation model (DEM) that has been clipped to the boundary of the farm.  Two sets are available for downloading: 7.5 minute and 30 feet post spacing.

Bench Markers

This is a shapefile that was created from marked locations found around the farm.  These locations were surveyed and concrete markers were set into the ground to identify the coordinates of each point.

This is a 7.5 U.S.G.S. quadrangle map that was obtained from the U.S.G.S. database.  The image was imported and manipulated to fit the boundary of the farm.

This is an ESRI Grid file of the aspect of the land.  This file illustrates the direction in which the land faces.

This is an ESRI Grid file of the slope of the land.  This file illustrates the overall slope of the land based on a DEM.

These various files include all the streams, ponds, weirs, dye traces, and the watershed area for the farm.
