Officer Descriptions

President
The President of the BAE Student Branch carries a lot of the responsibility for the organization. They are responsible for running meetings and  ensuring that 1) meetings are well planned, 2) publicized in advance, 3) fundraising is a priority, and 4) the leadership team is well informed about what needs to be done.  The president doesn't have to do everything him/herself, but is the main contact point in terms of what needs to be done and they are responsible for making sure that it gets done.

Vice-President
The Vice President of the BAE Student Branch can play a very important role in the organization given that they are willing to commit their time. This person is the "Right hand man" to the President and will help in decision making and in leading the group. If for some reason the President is unavailable, the Vice President steps in to answer questions/concerns and to communicate with the group. They attend all general and officer meetings. Some of the responsibilities of the Vice President are planning the Lawnmower Clinic, providing food for meetings, and keeping calendars in the Student Lounge.

Treasurer
The responsibilities for the treasurer of the BAE Student Branch include attending all leaders meetings, attending all student branch meetings, and taking care of financial obligations. The financial obligations include: reimbursement, checking the account balance on a weekly basis, helping with fundraising ideas and money, and assisting with any other financial needs.

Secretary
The responsibilities for the secretary of the BAE Student Branch include attending all leaders meetings, attending all student branch meetings, and taking care of documenting branch activities by writing and distributing minutes for every meeting.

Engineering Student Council Representative
The Engineering Student Council Representative is responsible for attending all Engineering Student Council Meetings (every other week) and for attending a weekend Engineering Student Council retreat, which takes place in early fall.  It has also been suggested that it might be advantageous for the ESC rep to also be the E-Day Chair.  Responsibilities include planning displays and recruiting volunteers. The E-Day Chair works closely with the BAE faculty E-Day representative and ESC members to coordinate plans with the College of Engineering.

Ag Student Council Representative
The Ag Student Council Representative is responsible for attending all Ag Student Council Meetings.  It is the ASC Representative’s responsibility to report back to the BAESB about events occurring within the College of Agriculture.  It is also expected for the ASC rep to attend such events as Round-Up, Breakfast with the Dean, Chili Luncheon, as well as Dean’s Dinner.

Activities Chair
The social chair of BAE is responsible for organizing activities for the student branch that are both fun and relaxing. Activities can be based on member input, or just chosen by the officers at the leadership meetings. Some ideas for activities include bowling, rock climbing, gift exchange at Christmas, community service trips, etc. Overall, the job of the activity chair is to unify the members through trips outside of the school setting.
